Trekking in Majella National Park

Abruzzo is known as Italy’s best kept secret, and this is not surprising. This Italian central region is famous for having the most impressive massifs of the entire Apennine Mountains, with Corno Grande del Gran Sasso (2914 m) and mount Amaro (2795 m, peak of Majella National Park), but also springs, waterfalls and lakes. Abruzzo is also rich in history and traditions, so you will find countless fortresses, castles, abbeys, hermitages, archaeological sites and borgos, all combined with delicious traditional food!

This tours develops over five days trekking in one of the most beautiful parks in Abruzzo, Majella National Park, located among the provinces of Chieti, Pescara and L’Aquila. Majella Park is famous for its 500 km of hiking trails through mountains, caves and medieval towns. You will also have the possibility to discover the local culture and traditions.

The itinerary covers 40 km and the level of difficulty is between the amateur and the trained hiker. For this reason, this tour is not indicated for kids younger than 14 (but we can simplify the tour for them). A suitable equipment and a certain level of training are required.
