Italian Mountains are a paradise for skiers: from the Alps to the Dolomites there are just so many ski resorts to choose that sometimes it is difficult to find the right place for you. We have selected for you some of the best Italian ski resorts: Livigno, Gressoney and the Dolomites.

Livigno lies in an enchanting valley in Alta ValtellinaLombardy, stretching across 12 km and nestling between two mountain ranges progressively descending from an altitude of 3000 m down to 1800 m. Famous for looking like a fairy-tale village in the mountains, Livigno offers 115 km of ski slopes of different levels, from 2900 m in altitude down to 1800 m. You can find 12 black, 37 red and 29 blue pistes. All of them are equipped with cutting-edge ski-lift systems, including 6 ski cable cars, 13 ski chairlifts, and 11 ski-lifts positioned on the two sides of the mountain. In Livigno there are also excellent restaurants and pubs, apres-ski dance parties, a trendy shopping centre and a kindergarden service. For the most adventurous it is possible to do heliski, and ski free ride downhill the most virgin slopes.

Monterosa massif is another great ski resort: it stretches for 25 km reaching peaks above 4000 m. In that beautiful frame of snow, mountains and peace, you can enjoy as many snow activities as possible, including heliski. There are 180 km of ski slopes and one of the best ski resorts is Gressoney-La-Trinité in Gressoney Valley (Valle d’Aosta region): a huge area equipped with cutting edge ski lifts and cable cars, offering skiers and snowboarders a great variety of wide and sunny slopes and steep slopes in the woods for all levels of difficulties. In the mountain huts at heights you can relax on big terraces, or tasting delicious typical Italian mountain food.

With 1200 km of great ski slopes and 1117 km of cross-country ski tracks prepared with the most cutting edge technologies, snow-parks, lift systems, fully-equipped ski resorts, the Dolomites are the biggest ski compound all over the world. They are located in the North-East of Italy, covering three regions (Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia) and five provinces (Belluno, Bolzano, Trento, Pordenone and Udine). They are called the “Pink Mountains” and are listed among the Unesco World Heritage List. Enjoy skiing on top of Marmolada peak, 3000 m in altitude, with a breathtaking landscape over valleys and other peaks, like Tofane di Rozes, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Sass Pordoi, just to mention some. Relax in comfortable hotels and mountain huts, where you can enjoy saunas, massages, or simply the best of Italian food and wine.
