The Dolomites

Home // The Dolomites

According to UNESCO, the Dolomites feature some of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world. With their 18 peaks, rising to above 3,000 metres, their vertical walls, pinnacles, sheer cliffs and narrow, deep and long valleys, the Dolomites represent an amazing spot for everyone who loves mountain activities and wild nature.
The Dolomites are also called “Pale Mountains” or “Pink Mountains“, as their white rocks glow with golden, pink and purple hues at dawn and dusk, offering incredible and breathtaking landscapes. The Dolomites are in the south-east side of the Alpine range, covering the territory of five provinces in the North-East of Italy (Bolzano, Trento, Belluno, Pordenone and Udine). The heart of the Dolomites could be identified with the massif of the Sella group (3,152 m), but the highest peak  is the Marmolada (literally, “the marble top”), also known as “Queen of the Dolomites”, with its 3,344 m of altitude.

The Dolomites are a superb area for trekking tours, with trails of different degrees of difficulty, from easy paths to the most challenging Via Ferrata, accessible to experienced mountaineers and rock climbers only. During winter the Dolomites are the paradise for the snow lovers and skiers, thanks to the numerous ski resorts offering cutting-edge lift systems and slopes of every level. You can enjoy every kind of snow activity, simply relaxing during a ski week, or taking a more challenging free-ride skiing tours.
