The blue, the green and the city in between: this is the way many citizens refers to Oslo, a city surrounded by water and forest. The capital of Norway is a relaxed and on a human-scale town immersed in the nature that you will definitely enjoy. If someone has told you that Oslo is nothing special, probably they didn’t go beyond the main touristic attractions. If you limit your visit to just those parts of the city, you will probably leave Oslo with the same impression. But in a few days you can visit the main points of interest, that can’t be missed, and discover some of the places less known to tourists, but loved by local people. We believe that with a local and alternative tour you will have an unforgettable experience of Oslo, and taste what Norway really is.

Take a stroll down Karl Johans gate to the Royal Palace, and enjoy the view over the sea from the modern and fashionable Aker Brygge. Breathe history at the fortress of Akershus and Kvadraturen, and walk on the roof of the astonishing building of the Opera House. Find your favourite statue among the over 200 ones in the amazing Vigeland Park, and admire the majestic Holmenkollen ski jump tower.

And with the fjord in the South, and the forest in the North, nature has to be accounted among the main attractions in Oslo. Norwegians, who greatly love nature, have a name for the forest and the hilly area surrounding Oslo, marka, and they want to make sure that everybody has an easy access to it. So take the subway to the northest station and get surprised by finding yourself surrounded by the wild nature. Enjoy nature as Norwegians do, hiking or skiing across the marka to one of the numerous cabins or hytte, or taking a boat from the harbour to the small islands scattered in the fjord for a pic-nic, with grill and local sausages, pølse.

And much more: museums of great relevance, such as the Munch Museum and the National Gallery for those interested in art, the Fram Museum with access to the original ship of the polar expeditions, the Viking Ship Museum and the Folkemuseum for those interested in the Norwegian culture. Music and lively nightlife, with concerts, clubs and breweries, shops, trendy restaurants and cozy cafés… Oslo offers something for every taste. What about a lunch in a historical restaurant with an amazing view over the city, or with a terrace over the sea, on a small island connected to the land by the shortest boat trip in the world?
