Wine production in Le Marche region has a millennial tradition dating back to the Etruscan people who planted the vines for the first time between 1000 BC and 800 BC. The territory is ideal for the wine production because it is hilly and mountainous, and it gets benefits from the overlook on the Adriatic sea.
Le Marche wine production is mainly in favor of white wines, although high-quality red and rosé wines aren’t missing.
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC and Riserva DOCG are the most famous and appreciated wines of the region, but also Colli Pesaresi DOC, Conero DOCG and the little known (but not of a lower quality) Lacrima di Morro DOC are definitely worth a tasting.
We have selected authentic and family-run wineries all over Marche region, some of them in ancient buildings, others on top of beautiful hills overlooking the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic sea. You can book a visit to a winery where, after taking a relaxing walk in the vineyard, you can meet the producer and learn about the techniques of production, the descriptions of the flavors and aromas and visit the rooms where the wine is made and left aging.
After the visit you can enjoy different wine tastings matched with food tasting according to specialty of the area.
You can ask for standard tasting (usually 4 wine tasting with a little food tasting), deluxe tasting (8 wine tasting with food specialty of the area like home-made cold cuts, cheese, jams, olive oil, focaccia, etc) or premium tasting (8 wine tasting + full dinner with local products). You can also choose the area of your interest: Ancona, Ascoli Piceno, Macerata, etc…
Every winery has a different combination of wine tasting and food tasting. Contact us for a quotation for a specific visit in a selected winery.
